Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (Becoming Catholic)

Green RCIARCIA is a journey of faith

It is a process that takes time

Time for prayer, study and reflection
There are four time segments in the RCIA process:

The Precatechumenate    which is approximately 6-8 weeks in duration.  It is a time of building community, answering questions and discovering the Good News of Jesus.

Catechumenate      which is a longer period of study; 10-12 weeks where the candidates learn the Church’s teaching and learn to imitate Christ in their lives through words and deeds.

Enlightenment & Illumination   generally coincides with the Season of Lent (6 weeks) and is the immediate spiritual preparation for celebrating the Sacraments of Initiation.

Mystagogy   is the final period in the RCIA and lasts until the Feast of Pentecost (7 weeks).  The focus is to join the community for worship and deepen ones understanding of the Risen Christ who is the heart of Christian faith.

Participants are asked to attend the RCIA weekly sessions on Tuesday evenings for approximately 30 weeks –Sept to May.  In the weekly RCIA sessions you will be enriched in so many ways; insights, challenges, and new friends to name just a few.  Please do not hesitate to contact Susan Bellotti, Pastoral Associate @ 882-2109 or sbellotti@stpacc.org with any questions or to schedule your initial interview.
