Likely most every parishioner attending Mass today knows at least one Catholic who is not actively participating in the sacramental life of the Church. They are family members, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers. The Awakening Faith invitation card enables you to invite an inactive Catholic to six evening sessions, which will begin on Thursday, January 19. You can give the invitation in a number of ways, but it should be done in a positive and caring manner. One way is to say, “I know that you have been talking more about the Catholic Church lately, and I thought that you might like to receive this invitation. I would be happy to accompany you because I would like to learn more about these topics myself.” Your generous offer to accompany the person may be welcomed. Some parishioners will be more comfortable simply giving someone the invitation card without entering into a conversation. Either way is fine.
Our goal is to invite people to the six Awakening Faith sessions from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings in Lower Level Room 1 in Church:
Jan. 19 Spirituality: What’s the Buzz?
Jan. 26 Who is Jesus?
Feb. 2 Do We Need the Spirit?
Feb. 9 Can I Accept God’s Mercy?
Feb. 16 Can Mass Make My Life Meaningful?
Feb. 23 The Church and Me
We want to make reconnecting with our Catholic faith as easy as possible. These six basic sessions will help those who attend comfortably explore, learn, and share with others in a friendly, confidential setting.
