Please plan to attend a farewell reception for Fr. Joseph Murphy on Sunday, June 23. Join with others in Parlors 1-2 following the 10:30 a.m. Mass and before the 12:15 p.m. Mass to wish Father well!
Dearest Friends at St. Paul,
I will be leaving Columbus soon to move to St. Louis. My provincial superior has asked that I take on a new assignment back in my Jesuit province. Please know that he is fully aware and appreciative of my long time both at the seminary, the Josephinum, and with my service also here at St. Paul’s for these past 21 years. We all should also remember that absolutely nothing under heaven happens outside the Providence of God. It put me here in 1998 and it always brings blessings, especially when delivered by those we have promised to obey. Therefore, though this move does not originate with me or the seminary, I have every reason to look forward to new blessings down the line and to wish them also upon you. I will naturally miss all of you very much. But I am sure we will be able to keep in touch occasionally and perhaps visit with each other down the line. I will move from Columbus July 1st. I’ll be seeing you around until then and asking for your always reliable prayers. God bless and keep you all!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Joseph Murphy, SJ
