Father Charlie will celebrate his Farewell Mass at St. Paul’s at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 30. A farewell reception will follow in the Activities Center from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Be sure to “save the date.”
Many ideas to honor Father Charlie and his retirement are in the planning stages. One is to create a video composed of photos of Father with our parishioners. If you have any photos of you or your family with Father Charlie, please email your favorite one. A digital copy can be sent to email@example.com. If you do not have a digital copy, consider bringing your photo to the Parish Office to be scanned while you wait. Please note that all photos are needed by the end of May.
Father Charlie has been our pastor since July 2003. During that time he certainly has made a difference in our lives both spiritually and personally. He has lead the way in encouraging his parishioners to serve the needs of the poor and underprivileged. He is a man with a servant’s heart and clearly leads by example.
Our beautiful church and the renovation and expansion to our school building are wonderful examples of his legacy. His leadership, spiritual strength, vision, kindness and love for St. Paul Parish and its people are well-known and appreciated. He will be greatly missed.
You may recall that it was always our intent to re-purpose some of the stained glass from our former church building and incorporate it within the newly built second floor school addition. The installation of the stained glass was in our original construction plan but was cut from the budget due to cost. Father Charlie understood that decision and the need to postpone the project at that time.
However, now that the construction is complete, Father has expressed his interest in seeing that the stained glass be installed. Using the stained glass is of great significance to him as it connects the impact of our parish’s history with the present. The use of these windows shows in a concrete way that we are rooted in the sacraments and with our patron St. Paul.
There is still $100,000 needed for these windows to be installed. As a farewell gift and a tribute to Father’s love for our parish and support of Catholic education, we would like to fund this project as a demonstration of our love and support of him.
To donate to this gift, simply put your donation in an envelope (indicate that it is for Father Charlie’s farewell gift) before placing it in the offertory basket at Mass — or simply click here to give online via WeShare.
Should you have any questions about the gift or need more information, please contact our Parish Development Director Dana Forsythe at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
