Baptisms

BAPTISM

“Through baptism men and women are incorporated into Christ. They are formed into God’s people, and they obtain forgiveness of all their sins. They are raised from their natural human condition to the dignity of adopted children. They become a new creation through water and the Holy Spirit. Hence they are called, and are indeed, the children of God.”                 Romans 8:15; Galatians 4

Baptisms for Infants and Youth are celebrated on the first and third Sunday of the month following the 12:15 p.m. Mass. Parents wishing to have their child baptized must be registered in the parish and are required to complete a Pre-Baptism Workshop before having their child baptized.  The workshop is held on the first Sunday of each month at 1:45 p.m. in Lower Level Room 3 (located in the lower level of the church).  At the workshop parents are given a baptismal application to complete to indicate the date they’d like to celebrate the sacrament, the names of their child’s Godparents and of course the full name of their child who will be baptized.  Godparents are encouraged to attend the workshop but it is not a requirement.

PLEASE NOTE: Although the workshop is regularly held from 1:45 – 3:00 p.m. in Lower Level Room 3 (located in the church) on the first Sunday of the month, there will NOT be a Pre-Baptism Workshop on March 1.  Additionally, there will be no baptisms celebrated on March 1 nor on April 5. Please call the Parish Office if you would like more information or have questions.

Older Children are incorporated into the parish’s Parish School of Religion, under the guidance of the Director of Religious Education.     Adults attend the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process by which they are both instructed and formed in the faith.
